Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has been urging Belfast's elevation to Ireland's second city of GAA games. He could get things going by agreeing to move the Clones clash on 19 July to Casement. He's a decent spud and that may even things up a little. Meanwhile, someone needs to broaden the talent pool for Antrim by getting into Methody, Inst and the other great state schools in Belfast to encourage them to allow all their pupils to sample Gaelic games. (Of course, many Catholic children attend these schools and many keep in touch with Irish culture by fielding for the South Belfast GAA sides.)
While you ponder that, I'm away to An Chultúrlann to meet with Lori Gallagher and 13 students from the University of St Thomas in Houston who are attending summer school in Ireland and have included Belfast in their itinerary.
Meanwhile, we're already seeing a resurgence of Saffron pride in Belfast. Could this be our peace dividend. The last team which shone, in 1970, was interrupted by 25 years of war. Perhaps this time round, with peace blossoming, Antrim can really rise again.

ahem...last team that shone comment...last senior team certainly. Your former Eagarthóir Ealaíon at Lá Nua was part of the minor football team that won the Ulster Championship in 1982.
Eaten bread is soon forgotten...
as a tyrone person living in belfast and a lover of the atown news how about another few options on your qestionaire like:
In the Ulster football final will antrim : lose heavily to the mighty tyrone
or
In the Ulster Football Final will Antrim: be humiliated
Lets be real and not get carried away with 2 wins Antrim

Good luck to Antrim and I hope they trounce Antrim in the Ulster Final and Kerry in the All Ireland Quarter Final. But Belfast as Ireland's second city for Gaelic Games - perhaps, but only as long as recognise that Cork is the premier city! - After all if we're talking All Ireland titles here, Cork heads the list for All Ireland Hurling and Football titles....
Not to have won but to have taken part!!!!!!!!!!!!
Concubhar seems to be a little worse for the weare, and so early in the morning too!!!!!!1
i thought kerry had won 35 all irelands and had the most all ireland wins?
maybe i am wrong
