Blast from the past

Our pal in Nua Eabharc Daithí Mac Lochlainn spotted the TUV u-turn on this one first: the party branded Irish a leprechaun language and then recanted with a simple bashing of Irish language.

The party has now apologised.

This BBC report notes that the term "leprechaun language" was first famously used by Sammy Wilson in the 1980s during a City Hall debate. It was actually used as part of a motion to throw me out of the council at my first meeting in November 1987 when I had spoken Irish.

Mairtin,
You and other people need to be smart enough to turn this negative into a positive marketing advantage/campaign and learn to think outside-of-the-box.
Why not start a marketing campaign to:
"Learn the magical, mystical language of the leprechauns and all its secrets and wisdoms."

Famously....no.
Infamously...yes

Concubhar,
What would you suggest?
As you more than well aware, a large proportion of Irish speakers in the south are involved in the insane idiocracy of translating English into Irish with the full knowledge that the translations will never be read by anyone, yet this is deliberately encouraged by the power system. And all these poor unfortunate devils are trapped into this evil system. Its real purpose is to destroy all soul and inspiration.
In the north we have the idiotic proposal for an Irish Language Act whose sole purpose is to act as a red-herring to cover up the destruction of Irish education, save for one west Belfast area where it is protected so as to ensure votes for the local MP who has no belief in the Irish medium education unless it means jobs for party members so he can maintain total control over them. Again, there is a massive destruction of soul and inspiration.
So what would you recommend to reverse the current state of idiocracy and insanity, le do thoil?
